Dat der poem

A good father
And good mother
Can be so exhilarating
Like magic
They're courageous
They're kind
They're intelligent
Can be exciting
Create a big sister
They're pretty in pink
Humble
To slow down to speed up
They are family
They can be
Eccentric
Bright
And have wisdom

Unplug the t.v and plug in to reality

Let's see, when I look at the world I feel in some way everyone is connected. We all in a sense need the exact same things. Nourishment, air, water these are all things that everyone needs including the world. If we don't treat it right nurture it it will fail, the same as we will without these things.

We need nourishment of all kinda, not just sustenance but love and kindness as well. We need these things to grow as people and society. Much like how a flower needs these things so it can grow and pollenate other plants and help them grow. We touch those of all we meet no matter if it's little or small. The world is effected the same way like people, every little action has an equal or greater reaction.

I think that I learned that I'm part of a bigger picture or that I'm connected to the world when I started trying to become a bodybuilding firefighter. Everything I do just seemed like to effect those around me more and more as I wanted things to happen for myself. I look at my body not as a temple but almost like a plant we need the same things to grow. I need water, food, and rest just is does. The world is no different if you feed it garbage you destroy it much like your body. I see my body as an extension of the world my actions will effect it just as they effect people now. This is how i feel connected to the rest of the world.

All these resources and 'Merica is still getting dumb

90% of Americans in straight up denial!
After watching the video “9 out of 10 Americans are completely wrong about this mind blowing fact” I felt it made complete sense. For me growing up I was poor and it sucked beyond all compare. I know what it’s like to have to sit back and watch others that have more and not understand why it is like that. The world made sure you knew your place and that if you stepped out of line it would put you right back there. I knew I was poor growing up, but I didn’t understand why, all I knew was that it was what it was. It’s as if from the get go you are just placed at a disadvantage, no matter the type of gifts or talents that were bestowed upon you, there was no way around making it out of your socioeconomic status. If you were born poor and went to school in poor neighborhoods but were a genius I am damn near sure you would not do anything with the knowledge you have.
The poor are made to be poorer than when they started. It’s thought to be that you must go to school and do better for than you parents did so you can give you kids everything you never could. Yet no matter how hard you work toward your dreams it seems as if one can never escape the rat race that majority of the nation is placed in.  It was not until recent that I felt I could change the outcome of my destiny. It’s no surprise the secret to doing this is hard work and perseverance, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go school and get a degree in a subject just to live a life monogamous. I am going to be a Firefighter and I’ll do it with or without and college degree. I decided where I am going to go in life and I will make it happen if it’s the last thing I do. I constantly get told by people that I am wasting my time and energy by trying to become a Firefighter, they say it’s so hard to become one and I am just chasing a dream that every other guy in the world wants. Yet being given nothing when I started and knowing that others had more than me just because, fills me with a passion of a thousand burning suns to not only become a Firefighter, but as well transcend between my socioeconomic statuses. I want to be wealthy not decent but I never want to worry about money.

I think the hardest part of transcending through classes is the generation now feels entitlement to things they don’t deserve or haven’t worked for. It is as if we as a generation are playing into what the one percent wants. We are so overwhelmed with the feeling that we deserve everything and that it will be handed out as if we were in a soup kitchen line that the one percenters never have to worry about us rallying our combined powers to change the way life is. On paper the poor and middle class look virtually invisible and the only people who know this is the poor. What the population thinks our system looks like only reflects what they have been led to believe; that anyone can do whatever they want. Yet the truth of the matter is, the poor are too poor to fight for themselves, the middle class thinks they’re better off than the poor when in reality they are poor living beyond their actual means, the wealthy do fine so they aren’t tripping off anyone else, and the one percenters are raking in so much dough they have allowed greed to fill their hearts. They would rather out source jobs to sell products and services to the middle class and buy back their debt so that they will forever own American and its citizens. For as long as we play into this, it will just continuously be a never ending cycle!

Rough draft :(

Mrs. Williams,

I don't know what to do about this thing. I won't be able to turn in a rough draft today for credit. If anything I'd like to meet you and go over things because I'm just all disemboggled and what not. I know that's not a real word but I like it. Yet I do seriously need help.

Waiting for superman!

This movie, really upset me because of who suffered; the kids. They have no power to decide their future they must just go with the flow of things regardless of what they want. It trully upset me when the little girl couldn't attend her graduation but had to watch everyone else go because she lived across the street.

What also upset me was when the other little girl who wanted to be a doctor or vet she was denied entrance to the school she wanted to go to because it was an at random lottery. I really hope that this girl achieves her dreams and one day save all the lives that she possibly can.

As for the boy who got to attend the boarding school, he just pissed me off by picking that top bunk instead of getting the bed that was by itself like come on bro. Get your life together.

Then there was little Francisco who teacher had to been a prick, his mother just wanted to be enveloped in his life and school, but the teacher didn't feel the same way. He didn't feel the need to let her be involved. I felt bad for him because he wasn't bad at school or anything he was just another victim of an oppressive teacher and school system. I hope that with his mom's help they can get through any obstacle put in his way and he can achieve whatever dreams he wants.

Lack of resources!

Does a lack of resources matter? I do believe they matter a lot. The better materials and more of them that we have, the better we can teach people. They not only are a tool to teach but they work like a placebo, knowing that you have good materials makes you feel better about the  enviroment you're in.

When a person is lacking resources to learn, they don't feel that they are even good enough or worth the time to be taught. Taking away little things effects a persons ability to learn because you take away their happiness of learning, and that is not cool!

Fixing what you didn't break.

Okay to answer how to fix an oppressive educative system, is well frankly I don't have a sure fire way but I do have some ideas. Idea nĂºmero uno we stop giving grades! I believe in the narrative type of educative system, where instead of grades a teacher helps you on your weaknesses in any given area.
For instance say we were in a math class taking a midterm on what we learned for the first half of the semester, and instead of either passing with 70% or more you either pass or fail on how well you retained the info and if your work reflects that and what you got wrong, you would be able to redo and fully understand the material. Yet we are in a system that is either pass or fail and no answer to why.

On a side note I also think we need to have more expressive things in school, we need to stop cutting art programs, music programs, but that doesn't mean to cut sports. We need to find a middle ground where we can support all aspects of school and it's demographic's needs. We also need to be able to teach in all modes, visual, kinestetic, and auditory. We must hit all the bases for each one of these type of people. This would be my solutions to an oppressive educative system.
