Oppressive school system?

I feel I most likely have gone through an oppressive system. For me school has just always been about the points, never about the learning. It was just doing busy body work to get points to get the grades but nothing more than that ever. I had an English teacher who told us about  narrative schools. It made me think of how cool it would have been to go to that type of school and not worry about points.
